Looking to meet new people?
Your traditional dating/friend meeting site has a series of drawbacks for the users. Users only really have the possibility of meeting a handful of people who are in their area. It's very likely that none of the people in the user's area have much in common with them. If the user does find someone with common interest it still can be difficult to meet that person. In addition dating sites can often be costly, require users to fill out tedious profiles and are littered with dishonest profiles.
Friend-Matcher, simply put, offers you a better meeting opportunity. It does not have any of the above mentioned problems. The unique matching system requires that there is at least one mutual friend between you and your match. What this does is create the best pool of potential people to meet out of any site on the web. Instead of choosing from random people, you will be matched with people who are in a similar social circle as yourself. If you are unhappy with your matches you can simply ask another friend to match you and you can have a completely different set of matches. The last and perhaps largest advantage is that these matches are easy to meet. You already have a mutual friend with your match, this friend can help with introduction. Whether you have your friend set you up on a date or simply invite you next time a group with your match is going to see a movie this makes meeting an excellent match easy. Best of all, you were matched because you have a lot in common so once you meet you're likely to hit it off regardless of if you're on a blind date or just in the same room.
Method 1: How do I use it to meet new people (date or friend)?
Friend-Matcher allows you to match with the friends of your friends using Friend-Matcher. Of course for this to work you need to get your friends to try Friend-Matcher. All they have to do is run at least one match. Once you have a few good friends using Friend-Matcher update your facebook profile to be as detailed as possible. The more information you have about yourself the better it will be at matching you. Then clear your data (options on the bottom of the matching page) select yourself as the person to match and check match with friends of friends (fill out the other settings appropriately for what your looking for). Friend Matcher will then return your best matches and also provide recommendations for who could introduce you to your match. Friend-Matcher also links that person's public profile so you can check to see if you agree with the suggested match. You are matched on compatibility so once you meet the person you are likely to get along.
Method 2: How do I use it to meet new people (date)?
If you have a good friend who is willing to help you this can provide another method for meeting new people.
First you will need to make sure your Facebook account is set so applications can see your information when friends sign on (how-to). Make your profile as thorough as possible. Include all your favorite interests, tv-shows and so on. Make sure not to miss the basics like age and gender. The more thorough your profile is the better Friend-Matcher can match you. Remember you can always "undo" these changes after you know your match. Have your friend clear their data (options on the bottom of the matching page) while your profile is set to be matched.
Alternatively, consider gathering a group of friends. Once the group has agreed to provide introductions, match yourself on each of their accounts and choose from those matches. You can always have someone else match you if you are unhappy with your matches but, following through with your first matches before moving to another match gives you the best chance of getting a date.

How confident can I be that these are good matches?
You can be very confident. Not only is it matching on a detailed profile with lots of very good canidates but you can also view your matches profile and make the call for yourself. In addition, you have a friend who knows you both and can tell you if you'd make a good match. The main reason for limiting matches to three is that we want to make sure every match it presents you with is a good match. That's not to say they are your best possible matches. Friend-Matcher is perfectly capable of missing good matches but, it's less capable of suggesting bad matches.
I want to meet new people but, don't want to have to bother my friends?
Friend-Matcher also has a group meet option that allows you to meet people in certain groups rather then just from the friends of your friends. More information about it is on the Group Meet link.
